Force Trolling Motor Addy Submission
Garmin - Olathe, KS
“Here’s a script. First review is Friday.”
With a freshly printed script and no further instruction for an Addy Awards submission video, I got to work concepting and storyboarding my vision for this project. I laid out my ideas in a storyboard using elements from similar projects to inspire the overall look I was envisioning for the piece.
That Friday I presented my concept to the creative team.

Force Trolling Motor Sketch
I developed a cohesive look for the video that visualized the intense R&D that took place before the product was officially launched
Concept and Development
The script highlighted the immense amount of R&D Garmin engineers had put into the creation of a silent trolling motor that rivals the industry leading competition. After digging up some concept sketches, photos of engineering sketch-a-thons, and feedback markings on some of the designs, I knew that was the direction I wanted to take the piece.
To add a level of mystery and allure, I worked with the audio engineers to find the perfect track to tie it all together. I think the video hit the mark of being fun and lighthearted while piquing the interest of the audience.
